Ok, I promise this is really the last time I’m going to change my logo. LOL! There is a certain feel I’m going for, and well the last one felt a little too juvenile. While I love pretty scripty fonts, the Honey Script font I used in my last logo is pretty much everywhere. The more I visit different blogs, the more I see the Honey Script font…which could be possibly turning into another Scriptina (I used to love that font when it first came out) by being overused everywhere…so I had to make the expensive choice of changing my logo again and designing new business cards. The logo isn’t too far off from what I had before, just majorly simplified; plus less is more anyway.
I’m glad I’m still fairly new in business so hopefully people don’t get too confused. I switched over from an entirely different business name (Polished Pixels Media) to my new name “Her Name Is Kim”, so that I could cater more to the women out there who need to make their small businesses look fabulous!
Anyway, this has been a valuable learning experience for me, but I am happy with the outcome this time. No, seriously I am this time. I think it really forced me to take a look at how other people can perceive my business. While a lot of people loved my previous logo, I still don’t want to come off as immature or youthful. I want my clients (and they do) to understand that I am seriously professional, yet fun and creative. Anyway my left eye is twitching and I need to get to bed….I’m rambling at this point.
Did you have a hard time trying to establish your brand? What lessons have you learned if any? Do you know what your logo says about your business?

I love that you share your evolution as a designer and entrepreneur creating and building her own brand. Things are shaping up lovely as usual. Oh, and I love me some honey script LOL.
Thank you!!!! It’s definitely a journey…people probably think I’m crazy for changing my logo every week LOL. I love me some honey script too, but it’s EVERYWHERE now :(. The more blogs I visited, the more I saw it. While I will still use it in my designs, I couldn’t have it in my logo anymore.
I invested in getting my logo made for my blog a while back and I’m so happy I did! I love it
Love your Blog Francy! Very Chic! A logo is the smallest investment you’ll make as a blogger to make a BIG impact in the future. Thanks for stopping by!
